This unit compares the physiological adaptations of animals in the context of environment, lifestyle and evolutionary history. Examples, which are drawn from a wide range of animal taxa, focus on adaptations of animals living in challenging environments. Topics include respiration, salt and water balance, temperature regulation, metabolism and animal size, locomotion and sensory organs.Assessment -- Course Website
