This unit focuses on how wildlife populations are studied in the field. Students will learn, through hands on experience, how to survey for wildlife using techniques such as Elliot trapping, cage trapping, pitfall trapping, observation surveys and remote monitoring. Field studies will focus on the interrelationships between flora and fauna and how this understanding can be used in management. This unit aims to develop strong practical field techniques. The unit will also further develop written and oral communications skills, data analysis skills and teamwork skills. -- Course Website
