The unit will include an introduction to soil classification and identification, studies on earth surface processes that influence landform development, and on general geomorphic systems. It will also involve a detailed study of rock types and a basic study of geological structures. Further it will examine techniques used in the assessment of the landscape palaeo-environmental history, and the contribution that this information / data has to climate change science. This unit will also involve detailed studies of geo-scientific maps (i.e. geological, regolith and soil maps), and of geophysical remote sensed imagery applicable to geo-environmental problems. -- Course Website
