This unit introduces students the best practices for mobile application development, examines the design of user interfaces and data sharing, discusses the techniques for creating map-based applications and using location-based services such as GPS, explores the use of background services, notifications, and alarms, discusses the Bluetooth, telephony, and networking APIs, and examines using hardware, including the camera and sensors such as the compass and accelerometers. The students will individually complete a Trimester long project with chosen development platform (either iOS or Android) and present the project. -- Course Website
