This unit introduces the material properties and fundamental concepts for design procedures of concrete structures and their behaviour during service life and according to the valid design codes. This includes introduction to the basic material properties and design parameters, flexural design of simply supported and continuous beams using Australian Design Code AS-3600, design of beams for shear and torsion, serviceability requirements, steel bond & development length, design of one-way slabs, design of two way slabs. -- Course Website
