This unit introduces the fundamental concepts for design procedures of steel structures and their behaviour during service life and according to the valid design codes. This will include specifying loads on steel structures, introduction to various design philosophies, design of tension and compression members, design of beams and beam-columns, design of welded and bolted connections, design of thin plate, design of frames and design of torsion members. -- Course Website
