The aim of the unit is to introduce the principles of systems engineering in the context of automotive product development. The structure and phases of product development processes will be discussed in detail. Topics to be addressed in this unit include: Automotive product development processes; developing engineering design specifications from the voice of the customer; benchmarking and target setting; concept development and selection; functional attribute trade-offs.Assessment -- Course Website
