This unit focuses on the increasing influence of traditional and new media forms of content delivery on sport. Issues to be examined include the economics of broadcasting through rights revenue, contracts and inter-organisational partnerships, government policy influences on sport and broadcasting, scheduling and promotional benefits and the production process of live sporting events and programming. Measurement terms such as ratings and share will be introduced focusing on their translation into revenue and commercial opportunity.
