This unit will develop in students a range of attributes that will enable them to be active, knowledgeable, reflexive participants in debates related to the key concerns of organisation studies. The unit will also develop those social scientific skills, capacities and attitudes that will enable them to contribute to workplace discussions and processes concerned with organisations in contemporary and future contexts. Images of organisations as machines, organisms, brains, cultures, political systems, instruments of domination, flux and transformation and as psychic prisons will be used to differentiate theoretical perspectives and assumptions about the roles of management. -- Course Website
