This unit provides students with the opportunity to learn about systems/software used by accounting practitioners. Students develop knowledge and understanding of the importance of the processes in organisations and how accounting information systems facilitate the management of these processes. Students have the opportunity to examine the information systems and review the means by which organisations acquire and deploy accounting information systems. The unit also includes a study of contemporary issues surrounding accounting information systems, as well as a critical analysis of the ethical issues related to the development and use of systems.
