This unit will introduce students to aspects of the history and current context of social work practice, and to begin to develop an appreciation of the role of social work and the diversity of the field in both Australia and overseas. This unit will provide students with an overview of social work processes and encourages students to engage with debates and to identify those factors which have contributed to their beliefs and attitudes towards a range of aspects and stakeholders involved in social welfare provision. -- Course Website
