This unit links occupational therapy research and practice. It emphasises accountability in practice and the application of research findings to intervention. Topics addressed in the unit include different ways of knowing; understanding and applying research approaches; personal and professional accountability; documenting and evaluating professional evidence; critical analysis of research findings; reporting and presenting; considering clinical effectiveness versus cost effectiveness; knowledge generation, quality assurance and use of clinical pathways.
