This unit will explore the way in which a range of aspects of our physical and social environment affect our health. These will include biophysical environment (access to nature, the effects of pollution), housing (the factors which influence individuals' access to and choice of housing), work and workplaces (strategies aimed at identifying, assessing, and controlling workplace hazards, in particular psychosocial and organisation stressors), and communities (for example urban and rural communities and the ways they can influence health).
