This unit introduces students to the major biomechanical factors involved in movement, with a special focus on locomotion, sports technique and analysis. The material is presented with an emphasis on the qualitative analysis of motion and forces. The unit includes the examination of external forces, such as gravity, air resistance, and friction, and their role in human movement. Internal forces created by skeletal and muscular systems and their effect on the body and its movement will be discussed. Finally, the unit will address some practical applications in biomechanics through a qualitative analysis of skill project. -- Course Website
