This unit provides an overview of the psychological assessment of an individual for various purposes and in a range of contexts. Major psychological tests will be studied with respect to their theoretical basis, construction, reliability, validity and applicability, including tests of ability, personality, attitude, mood and occupational suitability. Both child/adolescent and adult populations will be considered. The process of formulative psychological opinion in casework will be introduced.
