This is a level one unit in the People, Society and Disability major on the Bachelor of Health Sciences program. Students in other courses may study this unit as an elective. This unit introduces students to frameworks with which to explore the complex and dynamic interrelationships between people who have a disability, society in which they live, and service provision systems. Disability as part of the natural diversity of humankind, is examined from multiple perspectives, including individual, family and societal.
