This unit focuses on teaching thinking skills in the classroom and explores effective teaching and assessment strategies for addressing the VELS standards of the Thinking Processes domain. A variety of thinking models and thinking tools that can be used across a range of disciplines will be investigated and experienced in class. Collaborative classroom structures that enhance thinking skills will also be outlined and practised during class sessions. In particular there will be an emphasis on effective and engaging strategies for teaching reasoning, problem-solving and critical and creative thinking. -- Course Website
