This unit focuses on two key elements in the teaching of K to year 12 mathematics: problem solving and modelling. The unit will address topics including: the nature of mathematical problems and the problem solving process; the concept of a mathematical model and the modelling process; the role of problem solving and modelling in the school curriculum; organising classrooms for problem solving and modelling; and what constitutes a mathematically rich problem or situation for use in classrooms.Assessment -- Course Website
