This unit focuses on the place of health and physical education in upper primary and secondary curricula. Approaches to learning and teaching physical education are explored with particular emphasis on achieving safety, equity, supportive environments and inclusiveness. Current evaluation and assessment practices are reviewed and approaches to reporting on student achievement are developed. The practical application of ICT is explored in the physical education domain. Students consider the role of theory in physical education and ways that theory can be approached. Current data, texts and resources are examined in both the health and physical education domains. -- Course Website
