This unit develops an interdisciplinary approach to the teaching and learning in the Humanities and Civics and Citizenship. The unit begins with exploration of Humanities curriculum knowledge (Geography, History and Economics), and positions these learning domains within local curriculum documents which currently inform teacher planning in schools. Evolving from this disciplinary perspective, pre service teachers will draw upon content knowledge and ICT to investigate pedagogical approaches to planning for, and enacting learning that is inclusive of cultural and ethnic diversity within the primary setting.
