In examining social issues and processes of profound importance in today's world, this unit focuses on international migration in a globalising world and the consequent effects of the mixing of different peoples. Migratory processes and the motivation to migrate are investigated in terms of global economic, cultural and political linkages. The unit adopts a comparative approach in understanding the impact that migration has had on western and non-western countries.
