This unit focuses on the textual skills required at each stage of the editing process: advice to authors, content editing, proofreading and indexing. Students are introduced to the requirements of editing in a range of genres, including scholarly and technical works, literary fiction and general trade titles. The unit also explores the ethical responsibilities of publishers, editors and authors, especially in relation to copyright and defamation.Assessment -- Course Website
