The unit provides a broad overview of the security environment of the Asia-Pacific region. It examines the changes in the regional power structure from Cold War to post-Cold War; the rise of China and its implications for regional security; Sino-US relations and the Taiwan problem; Japanese security perspectives and security on the Korean peninsula.
