This unit provides an overview of the field of conflict analysis and resolution. The unit examines the causes of interstate and intrastate conflict, and examines a number of methods for peaceful conflict resolution. It explores issues such as civil conflict, secessionist conflict, humanitarian intervention, peace building as well as international efforts of mediation and arbitration. The unit employs several theoretical approaches and draws on a number of case studies in order to tackle the dynamics of conflict and peace in international relations. -- Course Website
