Global environmental problems are often regarded as part of a new agenda in international relations, potentially requiring a re-evaluation of traditional notions of international politics such as national sovereignty and political economy. This unit introduces students to the basic concepts necessary for students of international politics in examining how global environmental problems such as climate change, ozone depletion, hazardous waste and biodiversity loss are challenging and changing the world system. The unit pays particular attention to how states, multilateral organizations, transnational corporations and non-government actors shape the international system.

This unit... -- Course Website
