The policy decisions and activities of governments affect all aspects of the lives of citizens. At the same time, non-government actors including firms and interest groups - from the local through to the global - participate extensively in the policy process, with the boundary between public and private action contested and uncertain. This unit examines a range of important, contemporary policy issue areas such as the environment, health, welfare, employment and the economy.
