Content of this unit includes topics on modern Chinese literature, history of Chinese literature, ancient Chinese philosophers and philosophical thoughts, comparative studies of Chinese and western cultures, and English – Chinese translating. By studying these topics, students will explore the Chinese language and Chinese culture in depth, and practise and enhance their language skills while developing their understanding of the Chinese culture and their capacity for critical thinking on and evaluation of issues confronting China in its history and in its contemporary society. -- Course Website
