This unit will provide a practical introduction to painting and drawing skills in a studio context. The figure will be used as the foundation for understanding the elements and structures of art. Background research will be used to extend visual and aesthetic understanding. At the completion of this unit students will be able to apply a cumulative sequence of skills and associated theoretical principles; the nature and use of colour and pigments; the relevance and effect of light; figurative and compositional structure and materials and methods.Assessment -- Course Website
