In this unit students will explore the areas of icons, signage and way-finding systems. Students will be expected to be reasonably fluent in the Adobe Publishing Suite and will actively research contemporary and historical aspects of visual communication and commercial design as it relates to modern society. Students will be presented with design issues and develop methods and strategies for the generation and production of effective solutions. Topic areas will include map and navigation systems and research into and development of public service campaigns.
