Students will focus on the evolution of contemporary visual communication through the history of art and design. This unit will investigate the overlaps between historical and contemporary art and design movements and encouraging students to explore the influences they have on our contemporary creative world. Topic areas will include the history of printing, the origins of abstraction, decoration and culture, photographic techniques in design, symbols and language, modernism, postmodernism and digital culture.
