This unit provides an introduction to the choreographic processes involved in creating a new dance work for performance and the development of performance skills. It provides a preparation for collaborative performance projects undertaken at third year level. The unit will provide students with an introduction to the choreographic processes by which new work is made and realised as a public performance; the development of skills in dance performance; the ability to engage with new choreographic languages in the rehearsal process; and an introduction to the technical requirements of mounting a dance performance.
