This advanced unit explores the development of digital technologies as a continuation of humanity’s endeavours to relate how the physical, imagined and spiritual worlds have played important roles in cultural and social development. Starting from the cave paintings of Lascaux, and progressing through the artistic, philosophical and scientific approaches, students will be able to engage with the ways digital technologies enable us to record and reflect the real world as well as create imagined worlds that are complex, even “liveable” through virtual environments. -- Course Website
