The unit will examine the fundamentals of states' strategic behaviour and planning; the interplay between geographical circumstances and the ever changing military technology; the importance of the continuing technological war between states; alliance management; the Asia-Pacific and the Indian Ocean geo-strategic environment; the evolution of Australia's strategic culture, and national strategic and defence planning.
